Swarland Village Club
Swarland Village Club, is a Working Men’s Club, known as Swarland Club, operated for the benefit of the residents of Swarland and Newton on the Moor, but welcomes all visitors.
The Club has a large modern well-equipped bar which provides a range of beers, wines and spirits. Football matches are often shown, particularly for local teams such as Newcastle and Sunderland. There is a Functions Room which can be booked for a small fee and is available for parties, lectures, and other groups. They host various regular groups, such as Swarland Moor Local Heritage Group, Swarland and Newton Action on Climate (SNAC) ), Bingo (weekly on Mondays) and other groups such as a choir and ukelele group. New residents and non-residents are always welcome, and can join the Club as an official member by contacting bar staff or the contact given below.
The Club opens daily from 8:00 am to 10:00 am for newspapers and supplies such as bread, eggs and milk. A Post Office facility is available twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays. Papers may be ordered and reserved by calliing Louise on 07502 477 734.
